PI: Picture Pane Covers Workbench Tab or Task Pane (184461)

SYMPTOMS

When you start Microsoft Picture It! the picture pane may be larger than normal and may cover part of the Workbench tab or task pane on the left.

Also, when you choose the Text tool you may receive the following error.
Picture It! error. There may not be enough memory to complete this task.

CAUSE

These problems may be caused by corrupt or missing fonts.

RESOLUTION

To restore missing fonts that Picture It! Installs, follow these steps:

  1. Run Picture It! setup.
  2. Click Remove All.
  3. Restart Windows.
  4. Run Picture It! setup again and reinstall Picture It!

    NOTE: Files you created in Picture It! are unaffected by this process.
Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office 97 install the Tahoma font and use it for dialog boxes. If you remove the Tahoma font from the \Windows\Fonts folder, replace it by running Word or Office setup and choosing Reinstall.

To see a list of the fonts that Picture It! installs, search the Picture It! Compact disc for *.ttf. These are the TrueType font files that Picture It! installs to the \Windows\Fonts folder.
