PRJ98: Resource Initials Change After Using Resource Info Dialog (184005)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project 98, if you edit information in the Resource Information dialog box, the resource's initials may be reset to an incorrect value.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when a resource's initials are not the default, and you change some information in the Resource Information dialog box.

WORKAROUND

If possible, change resource information in a location other than the Resource Information dialog box. For example, to change a resource's Working Time, click Change Working time on the Tools menu. You can also change some additional resource information on the Resource Sheet.

If you need to change resource information in the Resource Information dialog box, re-enter the correct information in the Initials box.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Project listed above.

This problem was corrected in Microsoft Project 98 for Windows, Service Release 1 (SR-1).
