This article was previously published under Q182921

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to print a range of slides that includes a slide numbered zero, the first slide (slide 0) will not be printed.

CAUSE

The Print dialog box, a component of the Macintosh operating system software, does not recognize zero as a valid page number. Hence, you cannot specify a print range that includes slide zero.

RESOLUTION

To print slide zero, print the entire presentation.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

The ability for PowerPoint to start slide numbering at slide zero is a new feature to PowerPoint. To change the starting slide number, click Page Setup on the File menu, and then change the value in the Number Slides From option.
