OL98: Sending HTML Word Document Displays Garbage Text (182741)

Messages received in Microsoft Outlook 98 have nonsense text at the top of
the message.

Opening an attached HTML document displays nonsense text at the top of the
message.
CAUSE
Microsoft Word sent the document in a format that was not represented
correctly by the file name extension.
RESOLUTION
There are two workarounds for this issue. One is a Sender side
adjustment that requires a change to the default Save format, and the
other is a Recipient side adjustment requiring a file name extension
change.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 98 and
Microsoft Word 97. We are researching this problem and will post new
information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
