SYMPTOMS

When you try to connect to a Windows 98-based network share of the Windows, Windows\System, or Program Files folder from a Windows 95 or Windows NT-based computer with Active Desktop enabled, you may receive one of the following messages:
  • Warning
    Modifying the contents of this folder may cause your programs to stop working correctly. To view the contents of this folder, click Show Files.
  • Warning
    To add or remove programs, click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then click Add/Remove programs.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, click Show Files.
