PPT98: Some Preset Animations Don't Appear to Work (182535)

SYMPTOMS

When you apply one of the following preset animations to a shape on a slide, the animation effect is not actually applied to the shape:

Laser Text
Typewriter
Reverse Order
Drop In
Split Vertical Out

CAUSE

PowerPoint can only apply the preset animation effects to objects that contain text. The shape you attempted to apply the preset animation to may have contained text at one time, but it no longer contains any text.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
