This article was previously published under Q182388

SYMPTOMS

When you have a shortcut mapped to a network drive on the Quick Launch toolbar, the shortcut to the network drive may still appear when the mapped network drive is disconnected.

RESOLUTION

Remove the shortcut from the Quick Launch toolbar. To do so, drag the shortcut from the Quick Launch toolbar to the Recycle Bin, or right-click the shortcut located on the Quick Launch toolbar, and then click Delete.

STATUS

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

MORE INFORMATION

A shortcut icon normally has an arrow located on the bottom-left corner. Shortcuts located on the Quick Launch toolbar do not contain the shortcut arrow. This may lead you to believe that the icon is not a shortcut.
