SYMPTOMS
When using various MonoType(MT) fonts in a WordArt version 3.2 frame, the
font may be displayed as Courier in the WordArt frame. The font may also be
printed as it appears on the screen. This behavior may appear
intermittently. The following MonoType(MT) fonts are known to exhibit this
symptom:
Brush Script MT
Colonna MT
Engravers MT
Footlight MT Light
Matura MT Script Capitals
Palace Script MT
Perpetua Titling MT
Rage Italic
Script MT Bold
NOTE: Other MontoType(MT) fonts not included in the above list may also
exhibit this behavior.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, you can force the MonoType(MT) font to be
displayed and printed correctly by using one of the following methods:
Method 1: Switch to Italic Formatting and then back to Normal Formatting
While in the WordArt frame, click the Italic button on the Formatting
coolbar to change the formatting of the text to italic. Click the Italic
button again to return to normal formatting.
Method 2: Switch between a Non-MonoType(MT) Font and MonoType(MT) Font
While in the WordArt frame, select a non-MonoType(MT) font, such as Arial
or Times New Roman, and then reselect the MonoType(MT) font you want.
Method 3: Use Microsoft Draw WordArt Feature
If the text is still displayed and printed incorrectly after you tried
Methods 1 and 2, use the WordArt feature in Microsoft Draw 98, a tool that
is shipped with Publisher 98. To do this, follow these steps:
- On the Insert Menu, point to Picture, and then click New Drawing.
- Click the Insert WordArt button on the Drawing Toolbar to create the
text effect you want.
For information about using WordArt in Microsoft Draw, click Contents And
