DMM: Crash: No Error Message When Filtering Address List (182235)

When you choose to filter your address list, Direct Mail Manager may hang
(stop responding). You will not receive an error message.
When you try to run Direct Mail Manager using the same address list, Direct
Mail Manager hangs again.
NOTE: To filter your address list in Direct Mail Manager, when you are
prompted with "Do you wish to import all of <address list file name>?"
select "No, import only this part of the list," and then click Change
Filter.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, follow these steps to turn off the Allow
Filtering option in Direct Mail Manager:
- In the Import section of Direct Mail Manager, click Options.
NOTE: You are in the import section of Direct Mail Manager when the Red
dot is next to import in the Direct Mail Manager map.
- Click Options.
- On the Optional Steps tab, clear the Allow Filtering option, and then
click OK.
You should now be able to continue Direct Mail Manager when you click Next.
NOTE: Do not filter your address list in Direct Mail Manager. Instead,
filter your address list before you start Direct Mail Manager.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article.
