CG4: Clip Gallery Requires the Tahoma Font (179202)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Clip Gallery 4.0 for Windows
  • Microsoft Publisher 98

This article was previously published under Q179202

SYMPTOMS

When working with Microsoft Clip Gallery version 4.0, you may notice the following behaviors:

  • The Clip Gallery main dialog box is larger in size.
  • The Clip Gallery main dialog box appears off the screen.
  • Clip Gallery is using a serif font.
  • The tab for motion clips does not fit all the text.
  • Buttons overlap.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if the Tahoma.ttf font is not installed on your computer.

RESOLUTION

Install the Tahoma.ttf font using the following steps:

  1. Quit Publisher.
  2. Copy the following file from the Publisher CD:
          Tahoma.ttf

The fonts are found in the Fonts folder in the root of the Publisher CD.
  3. Paste the font into your fonts folder (found in the root of the folder where you installed Windows, usually C:\Windows\Fonts).

This installs the font on your computer. Now Clip Gallery should behave as expected.

STATUS

This behavior is by design. Microsoft Clip Gallery 4.0 is designed to work with the Tahoma.ttf font. If that font is missing or corrupted, Clip Gallery may not behave as expected.
