Chaos Island: After Quitting, Desktop Items Increase in Size (177712)
The information in this article applies to:
- DreamWorks Interactive, Lost World: Jurassic Park Chaos Island 1.0
This article was previously published under Q177712 SYMPTOMS
When you quit Lost World: Jurassic Park Chaos Island, the Windows
desktop may flicker and items on the desktop may appear larger than
they appeared before you started the game.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if you are using a video display resolution
of 800 x 600 or greater. When you start Lost World: Jurassic Park Chaos
Island, the video display resolution is changed to 640 x 480. On some
computers, when you quit the game, the resolution cannot be changed
from 640 x 480 back to the original resolution setting.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods:
Method 1
Manually restore the original resolution setting. To do so, use the
following steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Display.
- On the Settings tab, move the Desktop Area or Screen Area slider to the
right until the original resolution is shown beneath the slider (such
as 800 x 600 pixels).
- Click OK, and then click OK again.
- When Windows has adjusted your display resolution, close Control Panel.
Method 2
Change the display resolution in Windows to 640 x 480. This prevents
Lost World: Jurassic Park Chaos Island from having to change the resolution
when the game starts. To do so, use the following steps:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click Display.
- On the Settings tab, move the Desktop Area or Screen Area slider all
the way to the left (the Less setting).
- Click OK, and then click OK again.
- When Windows has adjusted your display resolution, close Control Panel.
