SYMPTOMS

When you edit an e-mail message using Microsoft Pocket Outlook, and you then synchronize your Handheld PC (H/PC) or Palm-size PC (P/PC) with your desktop computer, the e-mail message is not updated on the desktop computer.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because Windows CE Services checks for and synchronizes changes made only to the following e-mail message attributes:

  • Read
  • Unread
  • Delete
NOTE: You can synchronize an e-mail message edited on your desktop computer with your H/PC.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, follow these steps:

  1. On the desktop computer, use Microsoft Outlook 97 to edit unsent mail.
  2. Copy the edited e-mail message from the Inbox to another folder on the H/PC or P/PC. To do so, follow these steps:

    1. On the H/PC double-tap Inbox or on the P/PC -tap Start, and then tap Inbox.
    2. Tap the e-mail message in Pocket Outlook.
    3. Tap File, and then tap Copy To.
    4. Tap a folder other than the Inbox folder, and then tap OK.
  3. Synchronize the H/PC or P/PC with the desktop computer.
