XL98: No Web Queries Listed When You Click Run Web Query (177156)

When you use Microsoft Excel 98 Macintosh Edition and attempt to run a Web
query, the Web queries may not be listed.
CAUSE
This problem may occur if the following conditions are true:
- You point to Get External Data on the Data menu, and then
click Run Web Query.
-and-
- The current folder is not the following folder:
Macintosh HD:Microsoft Office 98:Office:Queries
NOTE: To determine which folder is the current folder, click Open on the
File menu and look at the name that is displayed in the Select A Document
list.
WORKAROUND
To look in the correct folder when you want to use a Web query, follow
these steps:
- Point to Get External Data on the Data menu, and then click
Run Web Query.
- Click Desktop.
- Select the following folder:
Macintosh HD:Microsoft Office 98:Office:Queries
NOTE: This step assumes the name of your hard disk is "Macintosh HD" and
that you installed Microsoft Office 98 Macintosh Edition in the default
folder, which is the Microsoft Office 98 folder.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem
and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it
becomes available.
