PRB: Visual InterDev Web Solutions Kit Setup Fails and Launches Two Browsers (177139)

SYMPTOMS

When you run the setup program for the Visual InterDev Web Solutions kit, after the message "Launching browser, please wait," the setup program launches two instances of the browser and never continues.

CAUSE

The Default.htm page that the setup program launches is a frames-based page, and your browser does not support frames.

RESOLUTION

Install a frames-enabled browser such as Internet Explorer 4.0 or later.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

You likely have a clean install of Windows NT 4.0 or earlier. The browser that ships with Windows NT 4.0 is Internet Explorer 2.0, which does not support frames.
