PRJ98: Invalid Error Message Opening Project Database File (177026)

In Microsoft Project 98, when you open a project file stored in a database
format which contains a resource that is assigned more than 10,000 units (or 1,000,000 percent) during any period, you may receive the following error:
An import error occurred.
Check row <x> column <y>.
This is not a valid units value or is outside the range for this field. Units must be a positive number between 0 and 10,000 (or 1,000,000 percent) with up to two decimal places.
To continue importing with additional error messages, click Yes. To continue importing with no error messages, click No. To stop the import operation, click Cancel.
NOTE: <x> represents the number of the row where the error occurred and <y> represents the number of the column where the error occurred.
CAUSE
When Microsoft Project 98 opens the project information from a database, it
checks the validity of the units data. Although Microsoft Project supports
having more than 10,000 units assigned during any period this error will appear
if the sum of Resource Assignment units for any period exceeds 10,000 units (or 1,000,000 percent). For example, 10,001 units will generate the error described in the "Symptoms" section of this article.
WORKAROUND
When you receive the error message, click Yes. Your information will not be affected.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft
Project listed above.
