XL98: Outline Effect Appears to Insert a Trailing Space (176190)

After you format a cell with the outline effect, Microsoft Excel appears to
insert a trailing space at the end of the outlined text.
CAUSE
This problem occurs when you apply the outline effect (click Cells on the
Format menu, and click Border) to an entire cell or to part of a cell.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem
and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it
becomes available.
