PRJ: Clearing Actual Work Changes Value to 0 Instead of Blank (173764)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Project, if you remove Actual Work from a task in Task Usage or Resource Usage views by selecting the value of work and then clicking Clear on the Edit menu, the value in the selected time period will be zero rather than blank.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because Microsoft Project interprets Actual Work to be zero when you clear a time period value.

WORKAROUND

To remove Actual Work from a task, delete the value of Actual Work by selecting it and then clicking Delete on the Edit menu.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the versions of Microsoft Project listed above.
