If you have the Sound Volume set to Off in Goosebumps: Attack of the
Mutant, you cannot hear the Countdown to Total Conversion.

Many important sounds will not be heard if the sound effects have been
disabled in the Settings area of the game. Goosebumps: Attack of the
Mutant can be played to completion without sound, but critical timers
and hints will not be heard.
To enable the sound effects in Attack of the Mutant, press the ESC key
on your keyboard, click Settings, and then select an appropriate Sound
Volume.
