SYMPTOMS

In the Bills place of Money 99 and Money 98, the Payment Calendar in Money 4.0 and 5.0, and Future Transactions in Money 3.0, the date of a transaction scheduled near the end of the month advances to the end of the month.

If a bill is scheduled for the 28th, 29th or 30th of the month, the date of the bill advances to the end of month, after a month where that date is the last day of the month.

CAUSE

When a bill occurs on the last day of the month, it is associated with the end of month in future occurrences.

For example, you enter a bill due on 12/28/96. It would be scheduled for 12/28, 1/28, 2/28, 3/31 and 4/31. After 2/28 the bill would become associated with an end of month payment (3/31 and 4/31.)

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.

WORKAROUND

To keep a constant date for a bill due near the end of the month, set the date of the bill to the 27th of the month.
