PPT97: Text Selected After Opening Speaker Notes (168506)

SYMPTOMS

When you click Speaker Notes on the View menu, any text that was previously entered in the Speaker Notes dialog box, is selected (highlighted). If you begin typing, the selection will be deleted. Clicking Undo on the Edit menu does not restore the deleted text.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem and prevent the lost of any text, press the Right Arrow key or click at the end of the text in the Speaker Notes box.

To recover the text if you typed over the selection, immediately press CTRL+Z. If you close and then reopen the Speaker Notes dialog box, pressing CTRL+Z will not restore your text.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
