BUG: SEM Unusable If Database Is Created with Quoted Identifier (167422)

SYMPTOMS
SQL Enterprise Manager (SEM) fails to connect to the server if one of the
databases on the server was created with quoted_identifier on. SQL-DMO
returned the following error when the database name was "work":
A connection could not be established -Incorrect syntax near the keyword
'work'.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server version 6.5. We
are researching this problem and will post new information here in the
Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
MORE INFORMATION
The error occurs on execution of sp_MSdbuserprofile 'init'. This stored
procedure is called by SEM while connecting to server.
