WD97: REF Field Becomes Text Converting from Word 97 to MacWord (167216)

If you save a Word 97 document that contains a Ref field in Microsoft
Word for the Macintosh version 5.x format, the Ref field is converted
to text.
For example, if your Word 97 document contains the following field
{Ref test}
where test is a bookmark, and you open the document in Word for the
Macintosh, it will look like this:
CAUSE
Word for the Macintosh does not support bookmarks.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article.
