Flooding occurs when one Microsoft Chat user overloads another Microsoft Chat user by continuously sending text or requests. Microsoft Chat 2.0 has a Flood Control feature called anti-scrolling that automatically ignores a user when flooding occurs. Microsoft Comic Chat versions 1.0 and 1.1 do not contain an anti-scrolling feature. WARNING: Using Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall Windows 95. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the incorrect use of Registry Editor can be solved. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

NOTE: For information about how to edit the registry, view the Changing Keys And Values online Help topic in Registry Editor (Regedit.exe). Note that you should make a backup copy of the registry files (System.dat and User.dat) before you edit the registry.

To disable anti-scrolling in Microsoft Chat, create a new DWORD value named

FloodControl (make sure to type this name exactly as shown)

under the following registry key: 
   HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Comic Chat
Set the value of the new value to:

0

After you make these changes, restart your computer.

To re-enable anti-scrolling, delete the registry key you created.
