Error Message Opening Microsoft Excel File on Handheld PC (166745)

When you transfer a Microsoft Excel file from your desktop computer to
your Handheld PC (H/PC), you may receive one of the following error
messages when you attempt to open the file in Pocket Excel:
This file is in an obsolete format.
-or-
An error occurred reading '\Windodws\Desktop\<filename>' because the
file is in an invalid format.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs when you copy or move a Microsoft Excel file from
your desktop computer to your H/PC without converting the file to Pocket
Excel (.pxl) format.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
- On your desktop computer, save the file in the Microsoft Excel 5.0/95
Workbook format.
- In H/PC Explorer, click File Conversion on the Tools menu, click the
General tab, click the Enable File Conversion check box to
select it, and then click OK.
- Use H/PC Explorer to transfer the file from your desktop computer to
your H/PC.
