This article was previously published under Q165901 SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Chat, when you attempt to play a sound by clicking Play Sound
or by pressing CTRL+B, you are not given the option to browse the hard
disk for a wave file (.wav).
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, you can specify additional folders to search
for .wav files when you click Play Sound or press CTRL+B. To do this,
follow these steps:
- Click Options on the View menu, and then click the Settings tab.
- In the Sound Search Path box, specify multiple folders in the search
path by separating each folder with a semicolon (;). For example, if
you want Microsoft Chat to list .wav files from both the C:\Windows
folder and the C:\Windows\Media folder, type the following:
c:\windows;c:\windows\media
STATUS
