SYMPTOMS

When you change the default settings of the Hewlett-Packard (HP) DeskJet 855c or 870c printer drivers in the Printers folder, the settings may not appear correctly in Publisher. The following settings do not appear correctly in Publisher:
   Tab/Setting How displayed by Publisher

   Paper Tab
Paper Size always indicates Letter (8.5 x 11)
      Orientation always shows Portrait
      Copies always shows 1
      Ordered Printing always unchecked

   Setup Tab
      ICM always unchecked

WORKAROUND

These settings do appear correctly if the HP DeskJet 850c or 870c driver is your default printer driver when you open Publisher.

  2. Right-click the HP DeskJet 850c or 870c printer icon.
  3. Click Set As Default on the menu that appears.
If the HP DeskJet 850c or 870c is not your default printer driver, change the printer settings from within Publisher.
  1. On the File menu, click Print Setup.
  2. In the Print Setup dialog box, select the HP DeskJet 850c or 870c driver from the Name list.
  3. Click Properties.
  4. Change the settings as appropriate, and then click OK.
