PI: ErrMsg: Not Intended for Your Version of Windows (163831)

SYMPTOMS

When you install Picture It! on a computer running Windows 95 you may receive the following error.
This setup program is not intended for your version of Windows.

-or-

Setup.exe is not a valid win32 applicationl

CAUSE

The exact cause of this error is unknown. It seems that some systems are corrupted or non-standard in some way that makes it impossible for Setup to identify what platform is in use.

WORKAROUND

To bypass the bootstrapper portion of Setup, do the following:

  1. click the Start button,and click Run.
  2. On the Command line type:

    d:\acmsetup.exe /t setup.stf

  3. Click OK.
Setup should run normally and without error.
