FP: Can't Insert Blank Line Above or Below Table (163586)

SYMPTOMS

In FrontPage Editor, when you attempt to insert a blank line above or below a table, a hard carriage return is inserted in the cell and the row height increases.

RESOLUTION

To insert a blank line above a table, choose the appropriate method:

Method 1: Press CTRL+ENTER

Place the insertion point in front of the text or graphic in the top left cell of the table, and then press CTRL+ENTER.

NOTE: This method will not work if the cell does not contain any text or graphic or if the insertion point is not positioned before the text.

Method 2: Use Cut and Paste Operation to Move the Table

  1. With the insertion point in any cell in the table, click Select Table on the Table menu.
  2. On the Edit menu, click Cut.
  3. Press ENTER.
  4. On the Edit menu, click Paste.
To insert a blank line below a table, use the appropriate method:

Method 1: Press CTRL+ENTER

Place the insertion point after the text or graphic in the bottom right cell of the table, and then press CTRL+ENTER.

Method 2: Use the Right Arrow Key and Press ENTER

  1. Place the insertion point in the last cell of the table.
  2. Press the Right Arrow key.
  3. Press ENTER.
NOTE: Press ENTER for each blank line you want to insert.
