In Microsoft Outlook 97, if you use the Microsoft Network (MSN) along with
other services that need a modem, you may find the services in contention
for use of the modem.
CAUSE
MSN is set for a persistent connection to the modem.
RESOLUTION
To turn off the persistent modem connection of MSN:
- On Tools menu, click Services.
- In the Services dialog box, click to select "The Microsoft Network
Online Service."
- Click Properties.
- In the Microsoft Network dialog box, click to select both the
"Disconnect after Updating Headers from Remote Mail" and "Disconnect
after Transferring Mail from Remote Mail" check boxes.
- Click OK.
MORE INFORMATION
If you use the "Check for New Mail" command on the Tools menu, it is not
