GW 1.0: How to Resize Page Borders (163363)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Greetings Workshop
- Microsoft Greetings Workshop 1.0a
- Microsoft Greetings Workshop 2.0
This article was previously published under Q163363 SUMMARY
On some printers, the page border of the Greetings Workshop project may be
cut off when you try to print it. This happens because of the predefined
unprintable region of the printer.
Greetings Workshop allows you to change the point size of the page border.
However, it does not allow you to manipulate the physical location and
shape of the page border.
If you want to change the physical location of the border, you can
get the desired results by using a border around an empty text frame. Text
frames are more flexible; you can move them and you can manipulate their
shape.
NOTE: In version 2.0 a dotted line in the project window shows where the
unprintable
is expected to be. This is sometimes still incorrect and you will need to
adjust accordingly for your printer.
Using a Text Frame as a Page Border
Follow these steps to use a text frame border rather than a page border:
- To remove the page border, click "Change the page border,"
click No border, and then click OK.
- Click "Add text, a picture, or something else," and click
Fancy text.
- Remove the default text, <enter your fancy text here> so
that the box is empty, and click OK.
- Click "Change text, a picture, or something else," and click
"Add a border around it."
- Choose the border category, type, and width, and then click OK.
- Resize the border by clicking the frame handles located at any of the
four corners of the frame, and drag the frame to the desired size.
NOTE: There is no way to change the color of the page border within
Greetings Workshop
