SUMMARY

On some printers, the page border of the Greetings Workshop project may be cut off when you try to print it. This happens because of the predefined unprintable region of the printer.

Greetings Workshop allows you to change the point size of the page border. However, it does not allow you to manipulate the physical location and shape of the page border.

If you want to change the physical location of the border, you can get the desired results by using a border around an empty text frame. Text frames are more flexible; you can move them and you can manipulate their shape.

NOTE: In version 2.0 a dotted line in the project window shows where the unprintable is expected to be. This is sometimes still incorrect and you will need to adjust accordingly for your printer.

Using a Text Frame as a Page Border

Follow these steps to use a text frame border rather than a page border:
  1. To remove the page border, click "Change the page border," click No border, and then click OK.
  2. Click "Add text, a picture, or something else," and click Fancy text.
  3. Remove the default text, <enter your fancy text here> so that the box is empty, and click OK.
  4. Click "Change text, a picture, or something else," and click "Add a border around it."
  5. Choose the border category, type, and width, and then click OK.
  6. Resize the border by clicking the frame handles located at any of the four corners of the frame, and drag the frame to the desired size.
NOTE: There is no way to change the color of the page border within Greetings Workshop

MORE INFORMATION

If a pre-designed template project has a border that you can't find in the Border's type box, it may be a graphic. To determine if it is a graphic, follow these steps:
  1. Click "Add text, a picture, or something else," and then click Picture.
  2. Choose a category on the left and look through the preview items on the right.
    1. You may have to preview several categories to find the graphic.
    2. A quick way to find a particular graphic while looking through the categories is to click "Find a picture". Enter a key word(s) that describes the image, and click OK. A preview of all graphics related to the key word(s) will appear.
  3. Click the desired image and then click OK.
  4. The image will appear at top of your project. You must resize the image to the desired size and location.
  5. Once the image is in place, click "Send it back or bring it forward." Click "Send it to the back," and then click OK.
