CAUSECase 1
You did not install the ODBC drivers when you installed Microsoft Project.
The ODBC drivers are not installed when you select a Typical installation.
Case 2
The Global.mpt file is missing or has been deleted and Microsoft Project
recreated the file. When Microsoft Project creates a new Global.mpt file,
it does not recreate the macros that are stored in the original Global.mpt
file.
RESOLUTIONCase 1
To correct this problem, install the Database Utility, using the following
steps:
- Click the Windows Start button, point to settings and click Control
Panel.
- Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon and click the
Install/Uninstall tab.
- Select Microsoft Project and click Add/Remove.
- In the Microsoft Project for Windows 95 dialog box, click Add/Remove.
- In the Options list, select Tools, and then click Change Option.
- In the Options list, click to select the Database Utility check box, and
then click OK.
- Click Continue.
For more information about using the Database Utility, see the Database.wri
file, which is located in the Microsoft Project folder.
Case 2NOTE: The Global.mpt and Backup.mpt files are located in the \<Winproj>
folder, where <Winproj> represents the folder where you installed Microsoft
Project. If you installed Microsoft Project from a network server, you may
need to contact your network system administrator for help in recreating
the Global.mpt file.
To restore the macros, use the following steps:
- Exit Microsoft Project.
- Rename the Global.mpt file to Global.old.
- Copy the Backup.mpt file to Global.mpt.
- Restart Microsoft Project.
