In Microsoft Money you can print two- and three-part checks in addition to being able to print standard single-part checks. This article explains how to print these multi-part checks in Money.

Standard, Voucher, Laser Standard, and Laser Voucher checks are available in one, two, and three parts. The second and third copies are interleaved with the regular checks. Multi-part forms are stacked so that the first page is a page of real, usable checks. Additional parts (the second and third pages, if they exist) are canary yellow copies of the first page. These are located immediately behind the actual check (the first page).

Laser Wallet and Continuous-feed Wallet checks are available for Microsoft Money versions 2.0 and 3.0 in single-part checks only.

Using Multi-Part Forms with a Laser Printer

To print Laser Standard or Laser Voucher multi-part checks on a laser printer, you need to set up the laser printer to print multiple copies of each page. For two-part forms, set up the printer for two copies. For three-part forms, set up the printer for three copies.

Most laser printers can be set up to print multiple copies by using the control panel found on the laser printer. For information on how to set up your printer for multiple copies, refer to the documentation for your printer.

Using Multi-Part Forms with an Ink-Jet Printer

To print Laser Standard multi-part checks on an ink-jet printer, you need to print three checks at a time. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. On the File Menu, click Print Checks.
  2. In the Print Range box, select the Select Checks option.
  3. If you are printing with Laser Standard checks, select to print three checks by clicking on them. If you are using Laser Voucher checks, select only one check to print. Then, click OK.
  4. Verify that the number in the Check Number box is correct for your first check and click OK.
  5. When the Confirm Printing dialog box appears, click Reprint. Click Select All, and then click OK.
  6. If you are printing three-part checks, repeat step five.
  7. When all parts of the first three checks have been printed, click Continue.
  8. If you want to print more checks, repeat steps 1 through 7.
  9. After printing all the checks you want, you need to correct the check numbers recorded in the register.

Using Multi-Part Forms with a Continuous-Feed Printer

With continuous-feed checks, the second and third copies are carbon copies attached to the back of the check and are printed in the same pass as the check itself. Therefore, you do not need to do anything special to print multi-part checks.
