TMGR: Not Enough Disk Space Message During Setup (161690)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q161690 SYMPTOMS
During installation of Microsoft Team Manager or Microsoft Team Manager for
team members, you may receive the following message:
Setup could not write to the file: <file name>. Ensure that the
destination drive has enough free space.
CAUSE
The free disk space that was available at the beginning of the setup
process is no longer available. This can happen, for example, if the
Windows swap file increases in size during the setup process.
RESOLUTION
Free up disk space and restart the setup program.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
MORE INFORMATION
At the beginning of the setup process, Microsoft Team Manager determines
the amount of free space available. If there is sufficient space available,
the process proceeds; otherwise, a message informs you that you do not have
enough disk space available, and you are requested to free up space before
you can proceed.
After the initial disk space check, the setup program does not check again
for free disk space. Therefore, if during the setup process disk space is
consumed by another process, such as the Windows swap file, the setup
process may not be able to finish because of insufficient disk space.
