TMGR: Messaging Option Dialog Displays During Quiet/Batch Mode (161666)

SYMPTOMS

When you run MGRSETUP.EXE, MEMSETUP.EXE, or SETUP.EXE from an administrative install with the /q setup switch for Quiet Mode, the setup program will still display the messaging options dialog box.

CAUSE

The only time the messaging option dialog screen will not be displayed is when you choose the installation type "Run from Network Server." Because the default installation type is "Typical," using the /q will display the messaging option dialog box.

RESOLUTION

In order to change the default installation type, either the TEAMMGR.STF file (Team Manager install) or the MEMBER.STF file (Team Manager for team member install) would need to be modified. Microsoft Technical Support does not support modifying either file.
