SYMPTOMS

When you sort a task view, such as Task Organizer, by Priority, it sorts opposite from what you specified. Selecting the Ascending option sorts the view from Highest to Lowest, and selecting the Descending option sorts the view from Lowest to Highest.

WORKAROUND

When you sort a task view, such as Task Organizer, by Priority, select the opposite of the sort order you want, as follows:

  1. On the View menu, point to Sorting, and then click Custom Sorting on the menu that appears.
  2. In the Custom Sorting dialog box, under Sort By, select Priority.
  3. To sort in ascending order, click to select Descending, or to sort in descending order, click to select Ascending.
  4. Click to select or click to clear the Permanently Sort and Show Summary Tasks options as desired, and then click OK.
