TMGR: Calendar View Prints One Less Week (161628)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Team Manager

This article was previously published under Q161628

SYMPTOMS

The Work Calendar view formatted with the Week layout is printing or previewing one less week than the value specified for the Weeks Per Page option on the View tab of the Page Setup dialog box.

The problem occurs if all the following conditions are met:

  • On the General tab of the Options dialog box, the Week Starts On option is set to Saturday or Sunday.
  • On the View tab of the Page Setup dialog box, the Weeks Per Page option is selected and a number of weeks is entered beside it.
  • The Work Calendar view was first formatted with the Day layout and Working Days Only options, and then reformatted with the Week layout option (leaving the Working Days Only option selected, but dimmed).

WORKAROUND

After applying any of the following methods, the Work Calendar formatted with the Week layout will correctly print or preview with the number of Weeks Per Page specified on the View tab of the Page Setup dialog box.

The first two methods have no visible effect on how the view is displayed, but the third method changes the starting date of each week.

Method 1

  1. Click the Tasks tab, and on the view banner, select Work Calendar.
  2. On the Format menu, click Calendar. In the Calendar Options dialog box, click the Day option, and then click the "Seven days per week" option. Click OK.
  3. Near the upper-right corner of the window, click the View Weeks button (labeled 7) to change back to the Week layout.

Method 2

Because the problem only lasts while the current team file remains open, close and reopen the team file. You can close the file by quitting Microsoft Team Manager, by temporarily opening a different file, or by creating a new one. Then, reopen the original file.

Method 3

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the General tab.
  2. From the Week Starts On list, select a day other than Saturday or Sunday. Click OK.
NOTE: This method changes the starting date of each week displayed in the Work Calendar view.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the products listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

MORE INFORMATION

To change how much of the Work Calendar view is printed or previewed per page, on the File menu, click Page Setup, and click the View tab. Select one of the three Layout options.

To change the layout of the Work Calendar view, click the View Days, View Weeks, or View Months buttons near the upper-right corner of the window (the buttons labeled 1, 7, and 31), or on the Format menu, click Calendar to display the Calendar Options dialog box, and select Day, Week or Month.

NOTE: In the Calendar Options dialog box, the Working Days Only and the "Seven days per week" options are designed to be used only with the Day layout option and are dimmed if the Week or Month layout option is selected.
