TMGR: Vertical Scroll Bar Missing in Timescaled View (161622)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q161622 SYMPTOMS
If you apply a filter to a timescaled task view, such as Workload Planner,
and if you collapse a header task and then expand it, no vertical scroll
bar is displayed at the right side of the window. This happens even if
there are more tasks satisfying the filter than can be displayed on screen.
Also, you cannot use the keyboard to scroll vertically.
WORKAROUND
Any of the following methods will display the vertical scroll bar at the
right side of the window, assuming there are more tasks satisfying the
filter than can fit on screen. Each of these methods works by forcing the
screen to be redrawn.
Method 1
Press the F9 key (the Calulate Now key).
Method 2
Use the mouse pointer to move the vertical pane divider that separates the
left and right panes in the timescaled view. It doesn't matter how much it
is moved.
Method 3
Resize or minimize the application window, and then restore it.
Method 4
Switch to a different view, and then switch back to the original view.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the products listed at the
beginning of this article. We are researching this problem and will post
new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes
available.
MORE INFORMATION
Typically, the vertical scroll bar automatically appears at the right side
of the window any time there are more rows to display than can fit in a
single screen. The rows to be displayed is determined by factors such as
the current filter, sort, and grouping, and which header tasks have been
collapsed. A header task is any task with a folder icon in front of its
name, including summary tasks, recurring tasks, tasks with assignments, and
group heading tasks. To collapse or expand a header task, double-click the
folder icon in front of the task name.
