OFF97: "Send To Microsoft Word" Unavailable in Binder (161470)

SYMPTOMS

In a Microsoft PowerPoint section in a Microsoft Office Binder, the Microsoft Word command is not available when you click Send To on the File menu.

CAUSE

A Microsoft Office 97 Binder acts as a client to provide a common interface and storage area for project-specific data. Binders are not designed to provide full functionality in each of the server applications.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, view the Microsoft PowerPoint presentation outside the Binder. To do this, activate the PowerPoint section and click View Outside on the Section menu. Note that additional commands are available on the File menu, such as the Send To Microsoft Word command.

STATUS

This behavior is by design of Microsoft Office 97.

MORE INFORMATION

This behavior is similar to the Microsoft Office 95 Binder. The Send To command replaces the Write-Up command that is available in Microsoft PowerPoint. The Send To command in Office 97 Binder duplicates the Write-Up command functionality.
