SUMMARY

You can use the grouping feature in Microsoft Outlook to easily delete an entire message thread. A message thread includes an original message and all of its replies and forwards.

Outlook refers to a message thread as a conversation. To delete an entire conversation, follow these steps:
  1. Group all messages by conversation using one of the following two methods.

    Method 1:
    1. On the View menu, click Group By to open the Group By dialog box.
    2. In the first drop-down list, click Conversation.
    3. Click OK.
    Method 2:
    • In the Current View drop-down list, click By Conversation Topic.
  2. Click the conversation group header, and press DELETE.
  3. In the "Are you sure that you want to permanently delete the selected item(s)?" box, click OK to delete the entire conversation.
