Cannot Scroll Through Address Book Using IntelliMouse Wheel (161200)

SYMPTOMS

You cannot use the Microsoft IntelliMouse wheel to scroll through the Address Book in Microsoft Outlook 97.

CAUSE

Although Outlook supports the IntelliMouse wheel, Outlook uses the Address Book from Microsoft Exchange, which does not support the IntelliMouse wheel. For the IntelliMouse wheel to work properly in a program, the following conditions must both be true:

  • The Microsoft IntelliPoint software version 2.0 must be installed.
  • The program must support the IntelliMouse wheel.
NOTE: Microsoft Windows NT version 4.0 does not require the IntelliPoint software.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
