OFF97: Toolbars Missing in Camcorder 97 (161092)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Camcorder 97, menu commands wrap to a second line, and the toolbar is not visible.

CAUSE

The Microsoft Camcorder program window cannot be resized. If you set the Microsoft Windows 95 menu font to a size that is greater than 18 points, the toolbar is not visible in Microsoft Camcorder. This behavior occurs because the menu bar is "wrapped" and occupies the windows space that is allotted to the toolbar.

NOTE: The Windows 95 default menu font setting is 8 points.

RESOLUTION

To view and access the Microsoft Camcorder toolbar, change the Windows 95 menu font to a setting that is no greater than 18 points. This allows adequate room for the menu bar and the toolbar. To change the Windows 95 menu font, use the following steps:

  1. On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click the Display icon and click the Appearance Tab.
  3. In the Item list, click Menu.
  4. In the Font list, click a number that is less than 24 points.
  5. Click OK
The toolbar is visible in Microsoft Camcorder.
