The Microsoft Proxy Server version 1.0 supports the following clients:

Winsock Proxy Service

Microsoft Windows 95 - MS IPX/SPX and MS TCP/IP
Microsoft Windows NT version 3.51 - MS IPX/SPX and MS TCP/IP
Microsoft Windows NT version 4.0 - MS IPX/SPX and MS TCP/IP
Microsoft Windows for Workgroups version 3.11 - MS TCP/IP only
Microsoft Windows versions 3.x - No support for Winsock Proxy

Web Proxy Service

The Web Proxy Service is CERN compatible. Any CERN-compatible Web browser on any platform that supports TCP/IP should work with Proxy Server 1.0.

SOCKS Protocol

SOCKS clients are not supported in Proxy Server 1.0.
