PPT97: Error Leaving Custom Animation Dialog Box During Preview (159605)

SYMPTOMS

You receive the following error message:
PowerPoint found an error that it cannot correct. You should save presentations, exit, and then restart PowerPoint.
when you do all of the following in the Custom Animation dialog box:
  1. Preview the animation on a slide.
  2. Click OK.
  3. Click Stop.

RESOLUTION

This is a benign error message. You can save your presentation successfully and continue working on it. You do not have to go back to the Custom Animation dialog box and reapply the animation effect.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at the beginning of this article.
