Neverhood: Strange Video Behavior or Hang with Diamond 3D (159022)

You have wavy or other unwanted lines running through your monitor, or
the computer stops responding (hangs) after you install The Neverhood and
let DirectX 3.0 update your display driver.
CAUSE
The newly installed display driver is causing this behavior.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest drivers from Diamond. You can
download these from the World Wide Web at:
If you do not have access to these drivers, use the steps in the Restoring
Original Driver section to workaround the problem.
Restoring Original Driver
Use one of the following methods to restore your original display driver.
Method 1- Insert The Neverhood compact disc into your CD-ROM drive.
- Click the Start button, and then click Run.
- Type the following:
D:\Setup\DirectX\Dxsetup.exe
where D: is your CD-ROM drive letter.
- From the DirectX setup application, click Restore Display Drivers.
If the problem continues to occur, proceed to the next method.
Method 2- After you install The Neverhood, DirectX version 3.0 and the new
display driver, change your display driver to the Windows VGA driver.
To change the display driver to VGA, do the following:
- Click the Start button, point to Settings, and then click Control
Panel.
- Double-click Display.
- Click the Settings tab.
- Click Change Display Type.
- Next to the Adapter Type, click Change.
- Make sure Show All Devices is selected.
- From the list of Manufacturers, select:
Standard Display Types
- From the list of Models, select:
Standard Display Adaptor (VGA)
- Click OK, then Close, then click Close again.
- When you are prompted to restart your computer, click Yes.
- Repeat steps 1-4 from Method 1 above.
