PRB: Page Faults when Performance Monitor Counters Enabled (158761)

SYMPTOMS
The performance monitor object Memory, counter Page Faults/sec will not
average around 0 (zero) if the SQL Server Performance Monitor counters are
enabled in SQL Server Setup.
RESOLUTION
To work around this problem, rename the file Sqlctr60.dll in the Bin
directory where SQL Server is installed; this disables the SQL Server
Performance Monitor counters.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft SQL Server
