HTTP and FTP Shared Folders Do Not Display the Shared Icon (158642)

When you share a folder for Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) or File
Transfer Protocol (FTP) access using Personal Web Server Administration,
the folder may not appear to be shared when viewed in Windows Explorer.
CAUSE
Folders shared using Personal Web Server Administration may not display
the shared icon in Windows Explorer.
RESOLUTION
To cause a folder shared for HTTP or FTP access to display the shared icon
in Windows Explorer, share the folder using Windows Explorer instead of
Personal Web Server Administration. To do so, follow these steps:
- Start Windows Explorer. To do this, click the Start button, point to
Programs, and then click Windows Explorer.
- In Windows Explorer, locate the folder you want to share.
- Click to select the folder, and then click Sharing on the File menu.
- Click Shared As, and then click Web Sharing.
- Click Share Folder For HTTP or Share Folder For FTP, and then select
the appropriate access rights for the share.
