PPT97: Placeholder Does Not Retain Shape if OLE Server Not Found (157504)

If you change the AutoShape of an object placeholder and then double-click
it to insert an OLE object, the placeholder does not retain the
AutoShape. Instead, it reverts to the original placeholder shape (a
rectangle).
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article.
