SYMPTOMS

When you start NetMeeting, the speaker volume level may vary from the setting when you last used NetMeeting.

CAUSE

The master system volume setting in Windows 95 or Windows NT changed since you last used NetMeeting.

RESOLUTION

Adjust the speaker volume in NetMeeting to an acceptable level by moving the Speaker Volume slider (the right-hand slider, next to the Speaker icon) on the Audio toolbar.

MORE INFORMATION

This behavior occurs by design. The speaker volume control in NetMeeting adjusts the master system volume and vice-versa. NetMeeting inherits the master volume setting when the program starts, and any changes made to the speaker volume setting in NetMeeting affect the master volume for system sounds.
