PPT97: Text Not Automatically Selected in Presentation Templates (157282)

If you click inside a Title or Text placeholder, in one of the
presentations listed under the Presentations Tab (Business Plan, Company
Meeting, etc.), the text is not selected and any text typed is added to
the existing text instead of replacing it.
If you click inside a Text or Title placeholder of a blank presentation,
the existing text disappears and is replaced with the new text.

This behavior is by design. The Presentation Templates are content
templates that contain actual text instead of text placeholders.
If you want to replace the existing text, select the text in the
Presentation Templates before typing new text. This replaces the
existing text.
