If you have a SCSI CD-ROM drive and a removable cartridge drive on the same SCSI bus, the drive letters for these devices may change when you restart the computer.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the computer is started without a cartridge in the removable cartridge drive, or if the cartridge is not partitioned.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, restart the computer with a partitioned cartridge in the removable cartridge drive.

MORE INFORMATION

SCSI devices that are available in real mode are enumerated first and given the first available drive letters. Protected-mode SCSI devices are enumerated next.
